Professor
Clinical Psychology

My field of study is clinical psychology, and as a Certified Clinical Psychologist, I have been practicing at psychiatric clinics or counseling offices in a university. During psychotherapy sessions, I place great importance on the client’s self-expressions, such as narratives, dreams, and drawings, and focus on the moment at which their sense of subjectivity activates. These practices have led me to examine these clinical materials and the overall therapy process as my primary research subject. Additionally, I have a long-time interest in clinical psychology for the older adults. Although they are living with decline, loss, and their own mortality, they also have great psychological depth and richness. I consider that paying attention to the ambiguity arising from these different aspects of aging is indispensable for better practice with the clients in late life.
