Yuichi Tomita started his career as an English teacher as a senior high school teacher in Tokyo after graduating from Waseda University. After teaching at two senior high schools for 11 years, he moved to a post in teacher education in Fukushima University. After 11 years teaching in Fukushima, he moved back to Tokyo to teach at Daito Bunka University, then went abroad to teach at the University of Manchester in UK, followed by Nazarbayev University in Kazakhstan, before being appointed as professor at Gakushuin University in 2015. His research interests include foreign language education policy, second language education, and teaching methodology.
