Theoretical Linguistics, Syntax and Semantics

My main concerns are syntax, semantics, morphology, and linguistic theory. Some papers in these disciplines have been published in major journals such as Linguistic Inquiry, Language, The Linguistic Review, Journal of Linguistics, Linguistic Analysis, etc. My academic career includes the president and a director of the English Linguistic Society of Japan, a councilor of the English Literature Society of Japan, and a member of the Committee on Honorary Members of the Linguistic Society of America. I am currently serving as the chair of the Ichikawa Prize Committee of the Institute for Research in Language Teaching, and on the Consulting Board of The Linguistic Review, and on the Advisory Board of the Korea Association for Studies of English Language and Linguistics, and of the Japan Second Language Association.
